If government does not think that the public is smart enough to know how much salt to put on food, or if they should have a sugary drink, and they seek to criminalize law abiding citizens to attain a desired outcome, then exactly what is the limit of what government can do and who will hold them to that limit?
Senator Leahy, initially proposed that he would draft legislation requiring law enforcement to use a probable-cause warrant to access all non-public internet communications such as email. Essentially using a bait and switch tactic. With this 3rd try now defeated it would be wise for the media, individuals, and particularly the voters in Vermont, to keep an eye on Sen. Leahy and the government. We feel we would be remiss to not state that the 1st & 4th Amendments, at least in conjunction with the internet, are under assault.
