The racism of Bette Midler's tweet is being minimized and obfuscated

July 26, 2019 – NO Soundbites Allowed – In the latest effort to protect Hollywood activists, news and social media are focusing on the least important facts in the public scandal surrounding Bette Midler. Almost exclusively the word “#Blackground”, in her now infamous tweet is the subject of debate. But its a distraction. Because the real racial bias is a different part of that #BetteMidlertweet.
