March 2, 2019 – CPAC – Several hundred attendees packed the main conference room at the Gaylord National Resort, where the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) of 2019 is being held. While the entire event has been filled to near capacity, for keynote speakers such as Rep. Jim Jordan, Glenn Beck, Candace Owens, Sen. Ted Cruz, there are 2 that pushed the event to legal maximum capacity. Those 2 speakers are Vice-President Mike Pence, and of course President Donald J. Trump.
While there has been a lot of coverage of the speakers and the event, there are some in the public that were not quite aware what is happening. An Uber driver, Clarence, was both proud and yet surprised by the number of African American Conservatives. Though he volunteered that he was not familiar with the politics of Republicans or Conservatives, the confessed,
“I have to say, Democrats are not doing enough to get the Black vote. Blacks should vote in places like Alabama for Republicans, and make them do something. But I don’t get how lower taxes are better than a living wage.”
Mere minutes from the capitol of the nation, the general populace like Clarence, are just not quite sure what to think. The nation is economically doomed, promised by Nancy Pelosi, Paul Krugman, and many others. But the reality is a robust economy. Threats of nuclear global war – or worse – were promoted by some sources of the media
“I mean this with only a touch of hyperbole: a Trump presidency right now would be a perfect recipe for World War III. Our world is awash with percolating volatility… The European Union teeters on the brink of dissolution. Syria is a snarl of selfish actors, a Sunni-Shi’a and Iranian-Saudi proxy war, poised on a razor’s edge between a murderous dictator on the one hand and ISIS and al Qaeda on the other… China’s mix of economic limitations and military assertion threatens to upend decades of relative regional peace. Israel and Palestine… North Korean nuclear weapons… Our global order is wobbling.”
Yet, after 2 historic meetings with North Korea, no war. ISIS is all but defeated. Stability is on the rise in the world, by virtually ever metric. Such imbalance of what is being said versus what is happening, should confuse anyone. Which is part of why President Trump decided to speak at CPAC 2019.
The questions that face President Trump at CPAC 2019 are: What will happen with North Korea? Can America continue to grow economically and compete effectively in the world? Will the trend of late-term and post-term abortions continue? Will Pres. Trump stand firm, bend, or fold to Speaker Pelosi, Sen. Schumer, and Democratic Socialists?
The answer to all of this and much more can be seen in the video taped live at CPAC 2019:
