September 22, 2018 – Binghamton, NY – On a quiet Saturday afternoon, Congresswoman Claudia Tenney met with several dozen residents of the metro-Binghamton area at the Greater Binghamton Sports Complex located at 1500 Airport Rd, Binghamton, NY. While news media were aware of the event, only Vass Political Commentary covered the event and had the opportunity to speak with some of those who attended the event. We share exclusive video of the interviews before and after the event.
Prior to the event starting we spoke to 3 residents of the Broome County region. One of the most notable individuals was former Mayor Richard Bucci. Also the former president of Catholic Schools of Broome County, Bucci stated that he is putting his support behind incumbent Congresswoman Tenney in part due to the economic improvements resulting from the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act that she voted helped to pass. He stated,
“I support Claudia, and the reason I support her is because I look at what has happened in this nation over the last 2 years. If you look at just the last week, the stock market has hit record highs several times over the last week. Unemployment claims are at a record low. Millions of jobs have been created. Consumer confidence is a 18 year high. When you look at all these economic factors, the result of which was the tax cut that the Congress, with Claudia Tenney’s support, was able to accomplish that has stimulated the economy.”
After the event, which was closed to news media only, we joined the Congresswoman as she toured the Sports Complex. She spoke with some of the young girls that are training for regional soccer teams and their South African coach. We had the opportunity to speak with Congresswoman Tenney to talk about her efforts for constituents and the outlook on the 2018 mid-term elections. She stated in part,
“… the overwhelming reaction that I am getting, whether it’s individuals on all the income levels particularly lower and middle income tax payers, all businesses of all levels, people are loving tax reform. It’s really working… If we could just get the State government and it’s really high and oppressive tax and regulatory regime out of the way I think your going to see New York really come back…”
Congresswoman Claudia Tenney is seeking re-election for her second term in Congress. The 2018 election will be on November 6, 2018.
