The latest event news about the local Tea Party organizations involves both the regular meeting for the Southern Tier Tea Party, as well as news from the Norwich Tea Party Patriots about the upcoming rally in Washington DC.
For the Southern Tier Tea Party, the next meeting is scheduled to be on April 5th. In that meeting Liberty Learning Center Director, Ms. Jane Stebela will be providing a class on Fiscal Responsibility (in government), which will cover the Founders’ view of the proper policies for government debt, spending and taxation. Ms. Stebela will be describing the ten tenets of Fiscal Responsibility and their meaning to American citizens.
Ron Barrett, President, The Southern Tier Tea Party, stated about the meeting that
“It is an non-partisan association of citizens from all parties who support three core principles: constitutionally limited government, fiscally responsible government and an environment favorable to free enterprise and personal liberty. All those who subscribe to those principals are welcome and encouraged to join us.”
The monthly meeting, held on the first Tuesday of each month, will be at the Vestal Library at the corner of Route 434 and Route 26. Contact is email@example.com and the phone number is 607-752-3861.
As for the Norwich Tea Party Patriots, the effort to gain a chartered bus to go to the Washington DC rally on March 31st did not generate enough people to go through. Instead there are 3 vans that will be going down to the nations capitol. The Central New York Tea Party members will be joining organizations from across the country, all of them focused on a singular thought. To remind the GOP and Congrerss in general that they have not forgotten the reasons why the 2010 elections were a rout on the ideals of the Obama Administration and Democrats.
The event is turning out to be far bigger than initially expected. Several speakers have agreed to join the rally. They will include Dick Morris, who can be seen as a regular commentator on FOX News and other media as well as a best selling author, and Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann, who has made headlines of her own.
The current plan at the end of the rally is stated as meetings with the representatives of Congress for all the various organizations across the country. In the Southern Tier that would include Representative Richard Hanna of the 24th Congressional District and Rep. Maurice Hinchey of the 22nd District.
Given the responsiveness of Rep. Hinchey during the mid-term elections (which we have well documented) the attempt to speak with him will be most interesting. As for Rep. Hanna, our experiences bode far better for those that venture to DC.
We hope to have reports and photos from the event as quickly as possible.
Space is reported to be limitied but available for the rally, contact Gilda Ward, Norwich Tea Party Patriots – 607-764-8303 Email = firstname.lastname@example.org – for further details.
