Since Harold Ford Jr. has emerged as the seemingly only Democrat competition to Senator Kirsten Gillibrand’s non-elected Senate seat for the upcoming mid-term elections, I felt that it is only fair to give him the opportunity to respond to the same letter that was sent to Senator Gillibrand and Senator Schumer.
Given is the fact that Mr. Ford is not currently an elected official. But whatever response I recieve will be provided VERBATIM.
Here is the exact letter sent to Mr. Ford.
Dear Mr. Ford,
I am Michael Vass, a New York State resident, small business owner and professional blogger. I have been covering various aspects of the building race for the junior Senate seat currently held by Senator Kirsten Gillibrand. As the competitor to Senator Gillibrand on the Democrat ticket I wish to present you with a letter that I have sent to Senators Gillibrand and Schumer.
I ask that you review the questions I have presented. I also request that you provide your answers to these same questions, given your current position as a private citizen. ANY and ALL responses provided to me will be made available to the thousands of readers I have in New York State, as well as the tens of thousands that read my writing each month across the globe, VERBATIM.
You may also review my previous letters to Senator Schumer and Senator Gillibrand at http://new.mvass.com/?s=letter+to+senator .
I thank you for your time and attention. The following is the VERBATIM letter sent to Senator Kirsten Gillibrand and Senator Schumer.
” (the name of the respective Senator was used singly for each letter sent):
Today it has been verified that both of the New York State Senators have joined with the Obama Administration to move forward with a modified Health Care Reform. This modified Bill includes a public option, and several other provisions that have proven – like the Bill itself – to be widely disliked by voters for over 7 months now.
Senator, as a resident well past voting age, a small business owner, and as a professional political blogger, I ask you why you support reconciliation for the Health Care Reform?
I ask if Senator [Gillibrand/Schumer] you have read the complete Health Care Reform Bill (in the House and/or Senate versions)?
I ask if you have read the final written version of the President’s modification that will be offered for reconciliation?
I ask you, why as a citizen of America and of New York State I should reverse my opinion on the Health Care Reform Bill when it (under any version available to the public to date) cannot fulfill several of its purposive goals – especially the mandate to provide every American with health care (as stated by numerous news organizations for several months).
Senator, these questions are not difficult ones. They are questions I have asked several times before, never once receiving an answer for myself or any of my tens of thousands of readers across the State, nation, and globe. After 7 months I believe that as your constituent an answer is deserved.
Senator, if you cannot answer the above questions and continue on a path that the citizens of New York State and the nation reject, I have one last question for you. Why should I, or any of my thousands of readers in New York State, re-elect you in the mid-term election in November of this year?
President – M V Consulting, Inc.
New York State resident
I await a response.”
