There is no race or religion being used to influence votes here, move along

By Michael Vass | July 3, 2012

Every so often, opponents of Mitt Romney (and Republicans as a whole) are accused of playing the race card or using the questions in the public mind on the religion of President Obama against him (though the questions have persisted for 3 years and counting). This, the accusers say, is beneath presidential politics and an insult to the American people.

So what is it when Michelle Obama uses race and religion to further the re-election of her husband the President?

Also of interest is the fact that First Lady Obama is clearly stating, it appears, that all the objectives that President Obama and Dems are promising will NOT happen any time soon. She is clearly stating that the public must sacrifice (what exactly is unstated) and at some point in the future (also unstated when) a reward will be given to the progeny of voters today.

That wasn’t the message in 2008. That definitively is not the message to America now. So we would ask, who is right?

Given that the First Lady knows the intentions of the President far better than we do, we would conclude that her interpretation is correct and all else is just political spin for votes. Because if it isn’t, then it’s just hype being sold to Blacks to gain a vote. Which we find to be the real insult.

But how do you take her comments?
