3rd annual Celebrity Bartending fundraising event by Southern Tier AIDS Program

In Binghamton at Remlik’s Oyster Bar and Grille the 3rd annual Celebrity Bartending fundraising event sponsored by the Southern Tier Aids Program (STAP) took place Sunday from 4pm to 7pm. The event was attended by several hundred individuals over the 3 hour event. The purpose was to increase the funding for STAP, allowing it to continue its community outreach and programs.

3rd Annual Celebrity Bartending event

The Celebrity Bartending event was a colorful light-hearted and good-spirited spectacle. There were people from every age, income, race and political background at the event. Entertainment included several drag queens, members of the Binghamton Opera, even Binghamton Mayor Matt Ryan serving drinks as one of the several celebrity bartenders.

The goal of the event was for the performers and bartenders to compete in gathering donations, with the event split into rounds that were 1 hour each. At the end of the event the bartender or performer that garnered the most donations had a cocktail named in their honor, served at Remlick’s. But the real winner was STAP, and it’s ability to continue its work in combating AIDS/STD’s and education on prevention.
