Van Jones is a nut. Why are you surprised?
I like most people missed the news of Van Jones resigning from his position of renewable energy czar. Funny how announcing news at midnight over a holiday weekend will do that. But to be honest, I’m not surprised that the man was such a screw-up.
Now when I say screw up, I mean politically. He is a vocal, self-proclaimed communist that voluntarily was involved in the “truther” idiocy, and apparently hates White people.
You expect that with that kind of resume (which is only months to a couple of years old) he wouldn’t hold a high level position in any Government long.
Still you have to wonder how he got into the unelected position he did. At the level he was at, everyone in the Obama Administration knew his background. Yes, including President Obama.
Which leads me to remember the past of President Obama. You know, his far left liberal voting record in the Illinois State Senate and as a Senator. The fact he was directly brought into Chicago politics by a self-admitted unrepentant terrorist (Bill Ayers). The appointment, of what seemed like every Cabinet appointee, of people that believe taxes are for only other people. The connections to big business (politically acceptable green energy big business though – and GE). The speed in which every decision must be made, even though no one has a clue of what the consequences (hell the parameters) of the decision are.
President Obama once said, on the campaign trail, to judge him by the company he keeps. He stated that he looks to bi-partisan discussion and knowledgable people. And since being elected he has avoided those exact people he named, in a national debate, in favor of most of the Clinton Administration and fringe far-left wingers.
So how is it that anyone who paid attention during the 2008 campaign, or since the inauguration, or in the some 230 speeches made to date, or the 97% of campaign promises not kept, could be surprised at all that Van Jones was radical and loopy?
Then again, how many people are still getting a tingle in their legs as President Obama speaks?

[...] This isn’t quite about entertainment, but bear with me. As we approach the end of Black History Month, the NAACP is preparing to honor this year’s Image Awards receipients. The honor of the President’s Award is going to go to Van Jones. [...]
